You are not supposed to experience any pain when using the Philips Avent breast pump. In the unfortunate event that you do, these tips might help.
Tips and tricks:
Check if the breast pump cushion has been placed on the breast correctly
Check the Silicone diaphragm (refer to user manual): Are there small slits in the Silicone diaphragm? If the Silicone diaphragm is damaged or broken, please order a new one to replace the defective item. You can also contact the customer support center for additional assistance
If the pump does not come away easily from the breast, it may be necessary to break the suction by placing a finger between the breast and massage Cushion or between the breast and pump funnel
If the pain persists it is best to stop using the breast pump and consult your breastfeeding advisor
