docomo是英文“DO Communication Over Mobile Network”（中文译为“电信沟通无界限”）的头文字缩写，日语里的docomo则带有“无所不在”的意思。NTTdocomo是1991年8月由日本电信电话公司（NTT）所分出来的。NTT docomo是日本最大的移动运营商，用户达到5140多万。它提供一系列领先的移动多媒体业务。NTT docomo分别在日本东京（9473），伦敦（NDCM）及纽约（DCM）的股票交易所上市。
