The NME Godlike Genius Award won by Blondie, part of the on screen content created by Loco for the NME Awards 2014 held on the 26th February at the 02 Brixton.
Loco enjoyed a fantastic night celebrating the 2014 NME Awards along with a host of stars at Brixton’s 02 venue on Feb 26th, an opportunity to not only showcase new artists but also to pay tribute to influential musicians that made such a huge impact on the UK and international music industry.
Loco was proud to have again worked alongside the NME team to create all the on screen content designing the opening graphics sequence and editing all the nomination packages. A great deal of Loco love and attention was put into creating the tribute films for Blondie’s Godlike Genius award, the film highlighting the accomplishments of Damon Albarn who won the well-deserved Innovation award and also the Songwriters Songwriter award paying homage to Sir Paul McCartney’s generation-spanning career.
The night itself was a continuous flow of entertainment with some phenomenal performances and memorable speeches. The best memories of the evening without a doubt were an unforgettable performance by Blondie of their classic hits which had the audience all on their feet dancing. Alex Turner contributed to the evening with a rather short but amusing speech, apologising to the audience for having used his best bits at the Brits! And last but definitely not least, appreciation must be given to Michael Eavis and his short shorts!
