With this VR installation, Burt Bees celebrated the life of its late founder, beekeeper Burt Shavitz, who famously lived off the grid in a rural cabin. We built a virtual observation viewer to transport people to the heart of his honey-making heaven, as part of a replica of Burt’s cabin. People stepped up expecting to see across the street but instead found themselves looking out across the fields of Maine from Burt’s front porch. By gazing at hotspots, people were not just looking but also learning about Burt’s life, legacy and love of nature as they explored his 400ft2 cabin.
