Nathan enjoyed 15 minutes of fame as “Mr. Cub” in Japan after he appeared on the TV show riding a Super Cub around the country. He’s an animator in real life, and after returning to LA, he decided to draw manga based on his travels on the Super Cub.
“When I was travelling around Japan on the Super Cub, I saw the moment a bird caught a bug in a rice paddy and ate it. I was able to see that because I was taking it slow. Taking a trip on a Super Cub means taking it slow. I want my manga to express the appeal this holds.”
He wakes up at 6:30 and leaves home on his Super Cub, sketching Super Cub manga ideas and working on animation at a café. He rides his Super Cub home in the evening and continues to draw his manga. Even after returning to LA, Nathan’s still super into his Super Cub.
