Da Lian from the northeast started travelling to Shanxi every year since 1999 to draw portraits for ancient buildings there. With an ardent love, he has painted over 1,000 old temples in the past 20 years. He’s not rich, but he saves every penny and endures all the hardships only for saving those endangered ancient buildings.
