Three chaps from the northeast, in less than two years, have made the coolest three B&Bs in Beijing hutongs. There is "You Yuan" transformed from an old pawnshop; "Fang Tang" where all artsy youngsters and hipsters go; and "Guo Xue" where the royal architecture can be seen in the guest room. They said, "It's hard to blend in, so we might as well stand out."
