Following a presentation on findings by Michael Shore, Ph.D., Vice President Global Insights at Mattel, five international experts on child development, including Shakira, joined in a meaningful discussion on parenting and the release of findings from Fisher-Price’s “Moms’ Hopes & Wishes” Study. Discussion centered around one of the study’s big “a-ha!” moments: moms around the world are placing a greater emphasis on raising a child with strongly positive character traits (also referred to as EQ or emotional intelligence) even more than a child with strong IQ traits.
