Carl Warner
Carl Warner is an English photographer who creates food landscapes made fromfruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, kitchen garden plants, mixed herbs and condi-ments. From his London studio, he assembles the finest ingredients to compose photographs which combine environment and food. From a red cabbage sea, to aforest of broccoli, to a mountain of bread and salami, to plains of parmesan and fine herbs, Carl’s lens depicts a pictorial voyage for us, where natural light brings a real meaning to these dazzling scenes. Each of these photographs is constructed from fresh ingredients, scrupulously chosen for their shape and their colours. To keep the freshness of these landscapes and the density of their tonality, Carl Warner works rapidly on limited life - span scale models. A single glance is insufficient to discover the richness of these detailed frescoes. From prima facie, we go back into the real world. Then little by little, the abundance of the details transports us to an endless imaginary world. Today his works are considered some of the most innovative, remarkable and original. We are invited to look at what we eat, as well as the world in which we live.Carl Warner is renowned worldwide today thanks to his "foodscapes".
