Writer/Director from Cape Town. Interested in telling stories that give an insight into the people of our strange and beautiful world.
Robin started off his career as an Art director and Designer working for Lowe Bull and then Leo Burnett in Italy. He dabbled in art, creating an international collective called Paperkut which held exhibitions, online exhibitions and released a magazine in Italy. Robin has exhibited his own work in Milan, Bergamo, Turin and Seveglia (Spain). In 2006 Robin created the Nano Art project, a collaboration with Nano physicists, together they created nano metric sculptures. In 2008 he traveled down from Italy to Cape Town on a motorcycle covering 35 000 km and published a photographic book celebrating grassroots football in Africa.
He climbed into the directing chair and won a silver at Cannes with one of his first assignments. He was also awarded the Saatchi & Saatchi's Young Director of 2011 in Cannes. Robin's strengths lie in narrative, character portrayal and making pretty pictures that offer high production value. Robin's interest in narrative has seen him shoot two short films, The Visitor and recently Commando. He is currently in development on his long format projects; The Elephant Whisperer, The Sheltering Desert and a crime thriller, Omerta. Robin has also been round house kicked in the head.
