Alex Schiller
I'm an American filmmaker, based in Munich, Germany. My roots in filmmaking derive from my love for snowboarding where I kickstarted my job as producer, director, editor and cinematographer for award winning snowboarding films from 1999 until 2013. Working in uncontrolled environments and traveling the world for over a decade taught me how to improvise and work with unforeseen situations. This also shaped my love for documentary-style storytelling and working with real people.
My time at art school guided my vision in photography and graphic design which led to a profound understanding of image composition and expressing my visions. My style and cinematic approach are influenced by modern cinema, culture and people’s stories. I'm a team player and love collaborating with every department, starting from the early script way until the final touches in post. I have created films for clients like Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Cisco, FC Bayern, Lufthansa, Ralph Lauren, Volkswagen and many more with my main focus on directing and writing. When I’m not doing anything that has to do with film, I spend my time with my girlfriend and my dog, wandering the world. And I like to take photos and eat nice food (…sometimes I take photos of my food as well)
