- Flame Artist - I've been making things explode for a while now. Shortly after graduating University of the Arts London, I had a brief stint in production, working as an AD on commercial and longform jobs. It was on set where I thought - "Too much sun and fresh air for my liking, it's time for the indoor life." So started my life in Post Production: I started at UNIT as a runner before quickly being moved in to a hectic and fast paced MCR, learning the foundations for broadcast and commercial delivery, as well as assisting UNIT's array of suites populated by Flame, Grade, Audio and Offline. After serving my time in MCR, I transitioned into the Offline Editing team. Here I got to cut my teeth on large joint projects, solo work, client attended sessions and how best to work alongside all the other departments. After a few years in this game, I'd gained enough post-production experience points for a level up. It was time to learn some fire skills and transform in to my final form. A Flame Artist. I was taken under the wing of the Flame department, who helped push me along and challenge me at every opportunity. Leading me to doing client attended jobs within just a few months. It was nerve racking to begin with, but I knew I'd found the role for me. My confidence and experience has grown so much over the last few years to the point where I have been leading jobs involving Flame, Nuke and CG artists and including on-set supervision. All in all, I've acquired a good bunch of skills on Flame over the years to become the resourceful and creative operator I am today, but one of the greatest things about VFX is there's always much more to learn and create. If any of this sounds interesting to you, or you think "Hey, I want to create some cool stuff with this guy”, feel free to drop me a line on the email below! Cheers
