香港出生，12歲到英國生活，畢業後，Ivan曾任美術指導和剪接師，也曾在倫敦的MTV頻道負責動態視覺設計，回港後，他開始專注導演的工作，利用他對視覺語言、音樂和節奏的敏銳觸覺去說故事。他為不少國際品牌廣告和短片，如Puma、 Kiehl's、麥當勞及國家地理雜誌等執導，亦曾與林憶蓮、楊丞琳及鄭秀文等知名流行曲歌手合作。
