Ondrej Beranek (1979) graduated from Prague Academy of Performing Arts and established Punk Film Production in 2003 with two classmates – Martin Hulovec and Jakub Drocar. Their mentor and guru was Jaromir Kallista, producer of Jan Svankmajer´s films. Ondrej is a producer of a feature films and documentaries, he prepares a fairy tale The Magic Quill, directed by Marek Najbrt (Czech German Slovak coproduction). He´s made five documentaries. In 2010 Ondrej was a producer of the social and educational project We Did Not Give Up, incl. Memory of Nation Award TV live, Ondrej is a co-author of the concept of Karel Zeman Museum in Prague, opened in 2012, 100.000 visitors in the first two years. Punk Film is full rproduction range company and is trying to make not only commercial projects but original films with highly artistic potential as well. The company is specialized in cooperation with Scandinavia and Asia, especially Bollywood. They coproduced Indian blockbuster Rockstar in 2011. Music video for legendary Czech band Visaci Zamek was awarded the Best music video of 2006 by Czech Music Academy and documentary The Landscape of a Life was awarded the Czech best documentary of 2009. Punk Film is partner of DVD distribution with Aura-Pont (established by Vaclav Havel). Their best project is Cimrman DVD Edition (Czech famous theatre phenomenon) – 1.6 mil. of sold copies and Karel Zeman DVD and Blu-Ray Disk Edition and partner of Karel Zeman Museum in Prague.
