Stephen has worked as a feature motion-picture screenwriter, television writer and director for various Hollywood studios and production companies. Past works include scripts for Disney, Warner Brothers, New Regency and Phoenix Pictures among others. His screenplay CON ED, written for Alcon Entertainment, is in development with comedian Kevin Hart attached to star. Steph'sfeature film "The Magnificent Cooly-T" set for release later this year. He's currently writing co-creating a limited series about the life and times of Ernest Hemingway for the producers of Nat Geo's "Genius" series.
Stephen founded UMBRELLA STREET MEDIA when he was tapped to create and produce the first ever national TV ad for a mobil app-- the Dictionary.com iPhone app campaign. After release of the spots, the app sky-rocketed to #2 on the Apple store's downloads site and landing the app on Apple's home page and their top 30 all-time app list. Since then, Stephen has created, produced and directed over fifty television spots - including a 2018 national campaign for 1800FLowers - as well as dozens of branded entertainment videos for the web.
Stephen's short "Get That Number" won Best Picture at the the Columbia University New Line Cinema Festival of New Works. Spin Magazine called it "an urban opus" and esteemed director Milos Foreman said it was, "truly a wonderful film." It won Best Picture at six international film festivals and was awarded Filmmaker Magazine's Audience Choice Award.
