Independent Cinematographer, Director. Yanqiu has first learnt shooting by running around the raining jungle of Singapore with an Arri SR2 Super 16mm camera. After graduated from MFA in Film at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia, she has been shooting films, commercials, documentaries and music videos around the world, including Singapore, India, Korea, USA, Taiwan, Macau, Japan and Mainland-China. Her work has screened at cinemas and film festivals around the world including Clermont-Ferrand International ShortFest, Short shorts Film Festival etc.  She was nominated for Best Cinematography at Milan International Film Festival 2015 and Kodak Gold Award 2014. Yanqiu was also a candidate for Taipei Golden Horse Film Academy 2014 by Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, Asian Film Academy 2015 by Busan International Film Festiva, and Kyoto Filmmakers Lab 2016. Right now she is based in Shanghai, China. She hopes to continue to tell extraordinary stories of ordinary people through the magic of cinema.
