Gareth Jackson and Mark Karinja have been shooting together since they met t the start of their careers. With Jackson hailing from the rural coast of Mexico and Karinja from the wilds of New Jersey, they both came up in the film crews of New York City. While working in the camera and lighting departments respectively, they both established themselves as cinematographers shooting commercials, music videos, and feature films. Throughout that time, Jackson and Karinja consistently shot and collaborated on their projects together.  

In 2008, the two teamed up as they began directing and shooting as + jacksonkarinja. The duo hasn't looked back since, making films for clients including Apple, Nike, Adidas, BMW, Honda, Kia, Citroen, Starbucks, Converse, and Budweiser. There's nothing that makes them happier then collaborating, creating, and shooting wherever the adventure takes them.  

Growing up skating, surfing, and snowboarding, these sporting introduced them to shooting at a young age and has influenced their style ever since. They still shoot their own films and look to bring their unique voice and aesthetic to all of their work. Jackson and Karinja both currently live in Brooklyn. The + in their names stands for their crew and all of the awesome people without whom their films would not be possible.
