J.J. Adler is a New York based director and writer who's helped create comedy spots for companies like P&G, SC Johnson, Virgin Mobile, Nestle, Coke, Verizon, MacDonalds, Pepperidge Farms, etc., and with agencies including R/GA Mother, Droga5, Ogilvy & Mather, Grey, DDB, Y&R, PKT, JWT, and BBDO. Adler was a founding creative and Head Director at The Onion’s Peabody award winning webseries "The Onion News Network." J.J. also co-executive produced and directed season 1 of the The Onion's 2011 IFC TV series of the same name. J.J.'s graduate thesis film, a short dark comedy, NEW MEDIA made its festival premiere at the 2010 Sundance film festival where it won several awards. J.J.’s 2007 short documentary Unattached won awards including a 2008 Student Academy Award and a grant from A&E IndieFilms.Adler is currently on the roster of Creativity A-list production company Tool of North America in the US and just released a new short film called Places, Thank You Places written by and starring Gary Rchardson (SNL). J.J. holds an M.F.A. in film directing from Columbia University and thinks advanced film degrees are of dubious value.
