Having come from a CGI background director David Alcalde is known for adding outstanding CGI skills to his work, creating stories driven by both smiles as well as effects. His commercial résumé includes spots for Sony, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Fuji and numerous other global brands. He co-launched SFX shop DDT in Spain, specializing in animatronics and makeup effects, and his former company contributed to Guillermo del Toro's feature film hit PAN'S LABYRINTH (earning an Oscar for makeup in particular). Today, Alcalde is a sought-after director of commercials, music videos and TV in his own right, with his background in effects, makeup, costuming and FX combining in playful, cinematic ways.
