Award winning director and photographer Dael Oates began his craft at Oscar-acclaimed animation house Animal Logic. After fine-tuning his visual approach directing both animation and live action, Oates signed with production company Prodigy in Sydney and Rabbit in New York. His diverse path has given rise to an eclectic set of skills and a considered sensibility that has seen him go on to create memorable short films, music videos, branded content and still photography. He evokes natural performances in his subjects, and coupled with his unique eye for translation, Dael’s visually striking work results in fresh storytelling. His work has collected multiple awards including winning the Kodak New Director Award and gold for the music video Cherry Tree’ at the New York festival. The photographic work, Wednesday Night, was also the finalist in the Sony World Photography Competition.
