A photographer from an early age, Antony Crook’s eye for the undiscovered beauty in everyday scenes was first recognized by UK underground magazines The Face, Dazed & Confused and Sleazenation, before quickly moving onto the pages of British Vogue, I-D and the New York Times. His subjects have ranged from David Hockney to Snoop Dogg to David Byrne and his prints are held in numerous private and public collections.

Along with his process as a photographer creating compelling work that brings us close to his subjects, an acclaimed music video for Mogwai called “30 Century Man” which premiered on Nowness, paved Crook’s transition to film. His spare, subtle realism and poetic style immediately proved a hit with brands—among them, BMW, Samsung, Rapha, adidas, Oakley, Wells Fargo and AOL.

Most recently, he directed an inspirational Tudor watch commercial featuring David Beckham, marking the latest of several collaborations with the athlete.  Another new spot for Lipton Pure Leaf Tea depicts the brand’s tea master Alex White reflecting on his journey and his art.

Other work highlights include a series of films for luxury fashion brand MR PORTER called “A Saturday With …” The popular day-in-the-life series features contemporary cultural icons, and now has over 10 episodes shot all over world, with millions of views. For the latest episode, Crook spends the day with Beckham in London.

This year marks the third in a series of films with Reebok Classic that focuses on British youth culture. The short is a collaboration with cult photographer Ewen Spencer and rapper Jesse James.

Crook continues his relationship with Mogwai, creating the album artwork for their latest album, “Every Country’s Sun;” he also shot and edited a new documentary on the making of the album to be released in Autumn of this year.

Crook’s recent photography includes campaigns for BMWi3, Oakley, Hickey Freeman and print charity project “Fight for Peace,” for a Rio de Janeiro charity that runs boxing gyms in the city’s notorious favelas.
