Between Earth and Sky.
This is my second film shot with Mathieu Le Lay in the French Alps, the first one being STILLNESS ARISES (vimeo.com/114950712). It was so good to be back adventuring with Mathieu, exploring new places, and experiencing the breathe taking landscape again. I managed to get hold of a vintage anamorphic lens just before this trip, and rigged it up to work with my A7s. Although the setup wasn’t very lightweight, I really wanted to experiment with it in the Alps, so took it along with me on the 4 peaks we hiked, including the toughest and most impressive, Mont Buet standing at 3,096 metres in front of the Mont Blanc mountain range. It was very challenging, taking 7 hours to reach the summit, and there were a few times I wanted to throw the camera (and myself) off the edge. There are no words to describe the feeling upon reaching the top though, all the pain seems to fall away and it all becomes worth it. So wild and peaceful up there, and the most stunning views.
