A future with fewer mistakes for human drivers, a future with fewer accidents.
Automated driving technologies continue to evolve. Nissan unveiled a new Nissan Skyline, with updated styling and ProPILOT 2.0 technology – the world’s first driver assistance system to combine navigated highway driving with hands-off single-lane driving capabilities. It automatically operates the steering wheel to support the driver when changing lanes.
And that’s how we came with the idea to develop “Pro Pilot GOLFBALL” - finally the type of golf kids, beginners, really anyone can do! A system in which any golf putt leads the ball into the cup to highlight Nissan’s self-driving technologies. A 360 camera recognizes the locations of a putted ball embedded with a motor and the cup, and a computer calculates the correct trajectory for the ball by taking into account the strength of the putt and other factors to guide it to the cup through wireless transmission.
In addition to producing a movie that went viral, an actual event was held at the Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery, attended media representatives from more than 69 countries around the world. BIRDMAN was in charge of planning, technical direction and software development.
ドライバーのミスが減り、交通事故の少ない未来へ。進化し続ける自動運転技術。日産は新たにpropilot2.0を開発した。新型スカイラインに搭載された、車線変更の際に自動でハンドルを操作し、ドライバーをサポートする新型運転支援システム「propilot2.0」。
そこから着想した、子どもでも、初心者でも、誰でもどこに打っても必ずカップインする「Pro Pilot GOLFBALL」を開発。運転支援システムと同様に、ナビゲーションシステムがゴルフボールの軌道を修正、華麗にゴールへと導きます。360°移動できるデバイスがゴルフボールの中に搭載され、俯瞰カメラでボールとカップの位置を検知、そこから得られる座標情報を元にボールにカップへ向かうよう指示を出して移動させる仕組み担っている。バズムービーを製作した他、実際に日産グローバル本社ギャラリーにて体験イベントを行った。メディア露出は世界69ヵ国を超えた。BIRDMANは企画段階から参加し、テクニカルディレクション、ソフトウェア開発を担当しました。
