ITO-SHI / TOKAIKAN / MAKING

昭和初期の建築様式がそのまま残る、温泉旅館「東海館」のライトアップ施策。静岡県伊東市からの行政案件として、デジタルを使った先進性と、伊東市の景観を壊さない世界観の両立のオーダーをいただきました。演出にはTouchDesignerを使用。東海館に吹く風の向きや強さをセンシングし、それに応じた光が東海館の軒先に敷き詰められた数々の提灯の中でゆらめきながら流れていく作品です。また、定時には浴衣などに使用されている日本古来の和柄の色をモチーフにした演出を施しました。
BIRDMANは企画、制作進行、ライトアップ演出のアプリケーション制作を担当いたしました。
Tokaikan is a traditional Japanese hot-spring lodge situated in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. We received an offer from the Ito City local government to create a contents that balanced the up-and-coming digital technology Ito City takes most pride in, but without damaging its landscape or architectural buildings. So we thought of creating an illumination for the lodge using the TouchDesigner platform. We spread lanterns along the eaves of the lodge, and they flickered and changed colors depending on the wind's intensity and direction. The theme colors were inspired from the traditional Japanese motifs also used on yukata (summer kimono).
BIRDMAN was in charge of planning & supervision, illumination app production.
