IBM / MEET YOUR SECOND LIFE Case Study

Japan is grappling with the challenges of an aging population, but recent innovations in technology can mitigate many of these challenges.
We partnered with IBM’s Watson to develop ‘MEET YOUR SECOND LIFE’, a prototype that predicts the right job for the elderly. The algorithm can predict a proper job by having a simple conversation with the AI and answering its questions which delve into skills, personality traits, and hobbies.
One of our biggest challenges was how to develop an algorithm that can predict unexpected carriers. The predictive analysis model is based on a survey of about skills and personality traits of more than 3000 people, and the WATSON personality insight, voice/text conversion APIs. Watson was also used for machine learning.
The other big challenge was how to design a UX suitable for senior citizens, how to create an experience as simple as possible. We therefore decided to use Watson's speech recognition API, and focus on a predicament through a simple conversation between the user and the AI. Based on the contents of that conversation we have developed our own system to analyze skills, traits and hobbies and match them with suitable jobs.

日本IBMのWatsonを活用した、シニアのための「第二の人生」の適職診断「MEET YOUR SECOND LIFE」。スキル、性格、趣味に関するAIからの質問に、マイクに向かって答えるだけで、自分では想像のつかない意外な適職がわかります。Watsonを活用し、高齢化問題を解決するサービスとして、プロトタイプ開発に参画しました。
BIRDMANに託された課題の1つは、意外な適職との出会いへと導く、アルゴリズムの開発。約3000人分のスキル・性格調査の結果と、Watson APIによる性格分析結果をもとにモデルを構築しました。機械学習にもWatsonを活用しています。
そしてもう一つの課題は、シニア向けのUX。体験を究極にシンプルにするため、「AIとの自然な会話による診断」にこだわりました。そこで、Watsonの音声認識APIを活用。AIとの会話内容を元に、スキル・性格・趣味を分析し、体験者に適した職業をマッチングさせるシステムを独自開発しました。
