What happened to her? There’s no time for an explanation. The same woman, Anna, drives alone in the desert. She’s going to Sundance Film Festival, invited to a premiere by a big producer. It could be the chance she has been waiting for: the chance to break into Hollywood.
But her encounter with Elle, a young hitch-hiker, will interfere with Anna's plans. Strangely, Elle seems to know quite a lot about Anna, about her dreams… and about all her failures...
In January 2011, a bunch of filmmakers started a road trip from Hollywood to Park City.
Destination: the Sundance Film Festival. None of them had made this journey before, so they
decided to document their trip. The result is a surreal short film about a young actress’ struggle to make her dreams true.
For eleven days, six people armed with two cars and a small camera roamed across
deserts, canyons, salt flats and snowy mountains. The script amounted to a short outline and
a few lines of dialogue written on some dusty pieces of paper. With no clue where they were
going, the cast and crew carried on down the road, stopping to shoot a scene whenever they felt the magic of a place.
Road to Sundance is a rough and imperfect film, a project born of passion and instinct that celebrates the power of following our dreams.
