This film is a study of synthesis, rhythms and degradation, exploring the metaphysical relationship between mind and matter. What happens when; synthetic environments are infiltrated by natural phenomena, rhythms are interrupted and broken apart by external forces, thoughts permeate the physical world, science is invaded by poetry.
Set in an unseen microscopic landscape, the animation for this journey has been created without key frames, utilising a dynamics engine that is activated and recorded. Essentially the film has decided itself to a large degree; in that the 'atom' is fired and what results is an affected simulation simply observed by a single camera locked in close proximity.
The audio is a series of live analogue improvisations (both instrumental and synthesised) that have been recorded, distorted and arranged accordingly.
