Burberry was hosting a live event in Taipei as part of their ‘World Live’ initiative to celebrate Britishness around the globe. The event marked the opening of their new flagship Taipei store.
Brief
The show featured content projected on a 360 degree screen created by twelve HD projectors that encircled the entire event. Atyp were asked to create all of the visual material for the after party, to show content from the day in a new way for the party audience. The challenge was to portray the Burberry brand, which mirrored the outer facia of the store, without ever being too overt or pushy.
Approach
The overall aesthetic took a very paired back, understated approach (partly inspired by Kubrick’s 2001) High-gloss reflective black geometry in a similarly black environment meant that the footage and lighting subtly ignited the branding of the Burberry check as the cubes rotated and turned in space.We designed and created a flexible toolkit consisting of 30 x 1 minute looping films. This toolkit, which was sequenced according to the mood of the music, enabled the visuals and music to match perfectly throughout the event. Allowing us to present the visuals in a context that was relevant to the mood of the party and also the launch of the new store.
