Wieden Kennedy London approached us to pitch on the first commercial they were in the early stages of developing for leading luxury beauty boutique Space.NK.
Brief
The brief was to lead the viewer on an immersive journey of discovery through a fantasy world that epitomizes the creative vision behind Space.NK beauty products. This echoes the extensive travels of founder Nicky Kinnaird in her quest to source original ingredients for her range.
Approach
After thorough research into the inspiration, key elements and processes used in the creation of Space.Nk products we undertook a collaborative script development process with the creative team at Wieden + Kennedy. Our key aim was to maximise the fluidity of our viewer’s journey whilst creating moments to convey the magic of unexpected discovery.
Through extensive R&D into the natural behaviours of the world’s inhabitants and the transitions through different areas of the world, our journey took shape. This process also allowed us to overcome the technical challenges of the liquid dynamics and seamlessly integrating the live action green-screen shoot of the girl. The resulting commercial was very well received, appearing throughout the advertising and design press and was described in Campaign magazine as ’60 seconds of bliss’.
