We were asked to art direct and produce content for the new Deutsche Telekom TV commercial directed by BlinkInk’s Noah Harris. The spot to be created was a varied and complex arrangement of shots that combine to form a highly dynamic film showcasing the full service that DT has on offer.
Brief
The underlying tone of the film was to marry warmth and humanity to what is actually a highly technological and integrated service. ATYP were commissioned to explore ways to communicate 4 concepts within the film that were true to this theme. Our remit was to take some visually open ideas from design and animation through to delivery and technical integration on the shoot.
Approach
We started by working collaboratively with the director, embarking on a two week R&D process in order fully explore the possibilities available to us. We then honed these ideas and brought them to life by visually prototyping
the shots in their relevant test environments before finally executing these into a variety of projection mapping techniques that included a custom built LED tunnel, the human form, a smoke bomb (the size of a bus) and an led tv monitor.
As a result ATYP were commissioned to create all dynamic content for the subsequent Deutsche Telekom Sky+ film featuring players from Bayern Munich Football Club.
