ASYMPTOTE

“Asymptote” was a finalist at the SHOWstudio Fashion Film Awards 2016. It screened at the Milan Fashion Film Festival 2017, the Austrian American Short Film Festival 2017 and Diane Pernet's ASVOFF10, and was exhibited at Essence 2016 and Q21 at MuseumsQuartier Wien.
“Asymptote” showcases architectonic sites that are authentic to the era of socialism. At the basis of the project lies a historical foundation that hosts with a fictional scenario to blur the borders between reality and memory. Bodies contort within the spaces to form coherent geometrical compositions, which are themselves symbols of socialism. Each person is stripped of their own individuality to become part of a unified whole, in which every difference becomes an anomaly in the system.
