Established in 1872 by the Basler Kunstverein (Basel Art Association), Kunsthalle Basel is world renowned for fostering pioneering practices in contemporary art. Dynamic, experimental, rigorous and accessible, Kunsthalle Basel commissioned us to create a short film that would both represent the exhibition and stand alone as an independent piece based on our interpretations of the works it presents.
Yan Xing’s newly commissioned installation, “Dangerous Afternoon” takes the form of a fictive exhibition by a fictive curator whose fantasy life provides a libidinal undercurrent to the project.
