After the Nepal earthquake in 2015, our mission was to help build a monastery for the kids and villagers that lived near the epicenter of the earthquake. Due to poor living conditions and poverty, it is difficult for villagers to travel or go anywhere near the city. Even today, roads are still in poor conditions leading up to Kaule. By building a monastery near the village there, kids in the area can get educated and fed, while the villagers can practice Tibetan Buddhism.
We raised over USD$300,000 for this project and built the monastery in the span of 18 months. This is the story of how it came to be and the ceremonial opening of the monastery in Nepal.
