Imagine a chip implanted in your hand that can swipe you into the gym, pay for your dinner and give you access to Pause 2018. No, this is not a Black Mirror episode, people, it’s IRL Pause 2018.
To celebrate the launch of Pause 2018 tickets going on sale, we joined hacking history by implanting injectables into a handful of willing and fearless Pause VIPs at Fed Square on Wednesday, 1st November for a jam-packed, exclusive media event. Each NFC (near-field communication) chip includes access to a three-day exclusive pass to Pause plus other special perks, including a night at the boutique QT Melbourne Hotel during the festival (hotel doors open with the flick of a hand).
Kayla Heffernan, injectable expert, swabbed light anaesthetic and injected the rice-grain sized chips into participants and mopped up any blood, while Pause founder George Hedon was on hand to talk about why injectables right now.
