PostPanic directing duo, HeyHeyHey, create a stylish trailer for the TEDx event coming up in Amsterdam next month. 'We’ve tried to tell a story without telling an actual story. It’s all about encounters, connections, everyday life, a book and a goldfish, but not really', explain HeyHeyHey cryptically.
Inspired by the Charles Eames quote, 'We work because it's a chain reaction, each subject leads to the next'.
The trailer focuses on a roundabout motion which introduces random characters with individual stories who intersect without realising, to create 'positive twists and new influences' - themes which tie into the TEDx experience. As HeyHeyHey explain, 'free will and chance become mutually reinforcing'.
HeyHeyHey's choice of a direction presents a highly stylised and cinematic world where situations are staged in a humorous/ tongue-in-cheek manner (keeping in line with previous HeyHeyHey films such as Mini Melvin vimeo.com/40591593).The trailer was filmed in Amsterdam with a bespoke circular set allowing the constant feel of motion as the actors played out their scenarios.
HeyHeyHey expanded elements of the film as part of their overall TEDx branding campaign which also included print, web and show bumper content creation.
