A little flower,
stripped from the garden’s bed.
A stoic stem,
With lashes like the early spring sunset.
Her pedals fall
and touch the dirt,
but the roots absent,
from the earth.
Delicate skin,
weathered by the seasons,
The frigid fall
And the tundra of her keeper’s grip.
A place where she bloomed,
But no longer belongs.
She speaks of soft overcast skies
Leaves and their limbs,
As they dance in the same breath,
rain falling from the sky,
The memories woven like roots,
Sinking into the soil,
Never to return.
But as summer turns,
she awakens again.
Surrounded by stone,
And built up strong once again.
As the little flower.
