With a very short timeframe, I was asked to fill the football field in each shot of this commercial with footballs and help create a moody atmosphere with sky replacements and set-cleanups.
Having no time for proper 3D, I built a 3D football in Flame textured from reference photos taken on set, then duplicated the models throughout camera-tracked scenes, using expressions to help keep them under control and easily change the hundreds of balls. A few scenes were helped out by tracks done in 3D equaliser by the 3D dept.
