For this TVC for the Australian Turf Club’s Autumn Carnival, agency Banjo requested a stylised, double-exposure technique to highlight over 150 years of rich Australian Racing history and tradition by visually merging the old with the new.
Two worlds are brought together by taking modern imagery of fashion, timelapses of the racecourse, and jockeys striving for a win, and overlaying these with historic racing images and crowds. The archival images were etched and projected to give them depth, and combined with a pastel colour palette and iconic images of Sydney and the tracks of Rosehill Gardens and Randwick.
