Should we fear the light, or embrace it?
Based around the iconic Dylan Thomas poem of the same name, Do Not Go Gently Into This Good Night uses interwoven art form vignettes to make a commentary on how the implementation of recent restrictive night-time laws and regulations within Sydney have created a sense of abandonment, isolation and at times fear within the city’s once thriving and inspired youth culture.
Featuring a cast of emerging talent from the fashion and performance world(s), clothing from Song For The Mute, and music from a duo of International composers (including up and coming Australian band The Lastlings), the piece has been created to offer a stylised contemporary take on the iconic poetry with a series of vignette’s all interwoven by the notion of youth embracing or rejecting different interpretations of light.
