The Francis Crick Institute will be home to around 1,400 scientists and 120 research groups. It is a partnership between six organisations: Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King’s College London.

The Crick will work with universities and hospitals around the UK to study everything from cancer, heart disease, stroke, infections, immune disorders and illnesses linked to aging and obesity.

At present it is just a building site, but the animation film above shows what the Crick will look like when it opens in 2015. We were commissioned to produce this animation film inside the building for architects HOK, with additional animation provided by PLP architects who are designing the exterior of the building.

Using the detailed designs created by the architects to give a detailed view of the Institute inside and out, the film shows off the building’s exterior when approached from St Pancras International. Once inside, the view moves past the exhibition space on the right and the seminar suites through the atrium past the auditorium.

The Francis Crick Institute Director, Sir Paul Nurse who shared the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2001, said it would be “probably the largest single laboratory building in Europe, possibly the world.”

We are very proud to have been asked to be involved in this life-changing project.
