In May 2016, municipal elections were at the fore front of news cycle. In previous terms, preparations for these elections consisted of posting the faces of the people on the street with some overused and abused copy lines, something like "John Smith, The choice is yours". This year / term was different. We haven't had any kind of parliamentary elections since 2009. These municipal elections were the closest thing to people wanting to vote for something for a kind of change. Posting pictures in the streets was no longer enough to get voter's attention. They needed to have programs and true campaigns.
Phenomena approached us with a program of one of the campaigners for the Zouk municipality seats. They called themselves: Nabad El Zouk. It's politically neutral, with real progressive ideas. They want to make Zouk a better place for their residents, and they are telling us how.
As it was a rushed job, we had little time to infuse a "Zouk" feel into the illustrations. Many have given us a positive feedback though as they felt some of the wider scenes captured some of Zouk's essence.
Update:
The list won the elections, so let's wait and see how this unfolds.
