Here's a walkthrough of the University of Iowa's Visual Arts Building by Steven Holl Architects that recently started construction, by 3D design students at the School of Art and Art History.
The animation was created by a team of students, university professors, American firm Steven Holl Architects and BNIM, who they collaborated with on the project.
The walkthrough takes viewers on a journey through the interior, beginning at the bottom of a long ramp on the ground floor and panning upwards, showing the different levels towards the ceiling.
It also features images of the building's entrance and ground floor, before fading out a level above and up the stairs, to the top level.
Long corridors and large classroom spaces also feature in the animation, before images of the light-filled ceiling and onto an outdoor top-floor terrace.
Adjacent to the existing award-winning Art West Building, the Visual Arts building will relocate teaching spaces from a 1936 building badly damaged when the campus flooded in 2008.
The new building will be used by students in the ceramics, sculpture, metals, photography, print-making and 3D multimedia departments.
It will also feature graduate student studios, faculty and staff studios, plus offices and gallery space.
