This fascinating project originated with a small team of talented designers and developers within Google. Their task was to develop the introductory experience for Google’s new VR platform, Daydream, and they invited Buck to help craft the visuals for the experience. Together, we worked to evolve the look and feel that was previously established in Google Cardboard. The experience is anchored inside a natural history museum, echoing the idea that VR can be a portal into other worlds. In addition to concepting, development and animation, we hunkered down with Google’s amazing team and learned the parameters of a successful VR workflow.
