Animation directors The Kitchen, have produced a 'Making Of' video, following on from their short animation for Specsavers' latest TVC.
The Kitchen’s diversely talented, and classically trained team, worked collaboratively with Specsavers’ creative to reimagine this classic fairy-tale of damsel in distress and knight in shining armour whilst steering away from Disney to make it unique to Specsavers and this commercial.
The nostalgic, handmade feel to it was achieved by 2D cel animation, with the majority of the ad animated by hand and the remaining scenes created in after effects. The team were also able to use 3D to bring other aspects of the ad to life to give them more depth.
