We thought it was about that time of the year again when we did something purely for passion, and the perfect opportunity came when our producer, Cassandra collaborated with the Catholic Welfare Services to produce an awareness video for ‘Hearts @ Work’, a project that provides sheltered workshops for intellectually challenged adults, to teach them life skills in a controlled environment.
We’re incredibly thankful to H@W coordinator Lily, for giving us the creative license to propose and execute the tone, style and story that we wanted for the video.
Instead of going the factual route to highlight H@Ws’ services, we chose an emotional narrative, focusing on one of the trainees, Adrian. Adrian’s story is told by his father, and is supplemented by present day footage as well as child hood photos from his past. The photos of Adrian as a child already had a beautiful, vintage look. All we needed to do was scan them in, and separate the layers to make them come alive.
Adrian himself is a beautiful character, and we hope the video does him and H@W justice.
