For Temasek Polytechnic's latest TVC 'My Dream Starts Here', the brief was to create a mixed media video incorporating line art animation and live action, for a narrative told through the perspectives of 4 aspiring students, from 4 different fields of study offered at the school, about their hopes and dreams.
The biggest challenge from the get-go was the tight shoot schedule - we had to cover 10 locations around the campus within a shoot day, with numerous talents to boot. But thanks to the dedicated Corporate Communications Department who helped facilitate acting rehearsals, recces and set-dressing prior to shoot, the shoot itself was such a breeze that we managed to finish it in 12 hours instead of the dreadful 16 hours originally planned for!
Shot on the Canon C300 and graded in Da Vinci, the line art was animated painstakingly frame by frame in post to illustrate the aspirations of the 4 main characters, bringing their hopes and dreams to life.
