In the summer of 2014 Capital FM launched a major social media talent competition that aimed to give one unknown musical act the opportunity that every aspiring musician dreams of. The chance to play at Wembley Stadium in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans. Capital FM chose Only the Young as the lucky finalists and we followed the band through this extraordinary experience as part of Vodafone’s Firsts campaign. Directed by Thomas Leach, the film intimately captures how a completely unknown group of youngsters prepare for their first ever stadium gig in just two weeks, and how they used modern mobile technology to allow their fans, old and new, to be part of it all by creating their first ever user generated pop promo. This is a coming of age film in a very modern context as this young band are catapulted into the public eye and onto the stage at Britain’s biggest stadium.
