Loco is excited to present the first ever, national TV campaign for Go Ape, “#TakeTheFirstStep”. As Loco Creative Director, Danny Coster explains, “This project really embodies Loco’s co-creative ethos and we truly became part of the Go Ape Tribe. Our production team worked closely with Go Ape’s marketing team to make the most of a two-day shoot at the beautiful Leeds Castle Adventure location and bring our director’s treatment to life”
Go Ape’s Marketing Director, Paul Lymer provides a ringing endorsement,
"We have really enjoyed working with Loco on the ‘Take the First Step' project. This is the first time that Go Ape have had a national TV campaign and it was critical that we got it right; from the very beginning we knew that the team at Loco just got our brand. From Conception through to Direction and Production, the team have been brilliant.
It has been a pleasure working with Loco on this project and we look forward to welcoming lots more new customers to Live Life Adventurously this summer. Go Ape will definitely be working with Loco on future projects. Thanks Loco team for making our forest adventures look stunning!”
Loco’s production team organised a five-camera shoot with cast, crew and kit (oooooh, drone camera!) whilst Anna and her colleagues facilitated the involvement of Go Ape’s staff with some of the team and extra equipment joining the shoot from other course locations around the country (zooom, Segways!). As part of our approach to create additional content for the campaign, the team arranged a special event to invite members of the public to participate in the Go Ape Adventure and share their excitement on camera about their first step experience (woo-hoo, zipwire!)
With more than two decades of experience in post production, we were well prepared for a potentially complicated workflow managing multiple rushes formats and colour spaces. Editor Aidan Taub and the Loco-Create directors crafted the story of Go Ape Adventurers enjoying the challenges of the outdoor ropes course and Segway safaris while colourist Kenny Gibb and VFX editor Jon Davey provided expert finishing to bring out the best of the gorgeous footage.
With so much great-looking and exciting material captured, Liam Hawe was able to edit additional content for the Go Ape website and social media platforms. We were also pleased to be able to provide stills for Go Ape’s print and digital campaigns as well as other OOH media.
The 30 and 10 second TV commercials will be airing across the UK from July 2016, and the spot is already live on the Go Ape YouTube channel youtu.be/8T8X6_9TBV0.
You can book you own Go Ape Adventure on the website goape.co.uk
Go on, take the first step and share your story on social media with #TakeTheFirstStep.
