GONNA MAKE IT (小小传奇) is a MEDIACORP CHANNEL 8 romance drama featuring JULIE TAN, XU BIN, BRYAN WONG, EDWIN GOH and YA HUI. A 20-part series that revolves around the life of the main protagonist, SU XIAO XIAO (JULIE TAN), who starts anew after her release from jail and learned the craft of hairdressing, the drama shows the challenges she faced while embarking on her journey into the industry.
MOJO was brought in to work on the show opener, and also to help direct a group of animation students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic who had already started working on a short animated sequence earlier. Adopting a Korean-inspired style as the main direction, we used 2D illustrated scissors as the main element, snipping across graphical lines on the screen, along with a palette of pastel colors for a fresh and idyllic look.
