Over the post 15 years, under the mandate of the Millennium Development Goals, the Unesco institute of statistic built solid a reputation for producing timely, accurate and internationally comparable education data to measure progress towards global education goals. Training and networking -- aIso important aspects of UIS work -- have helped us improve the collection, quality and use of education indicators.
With the adoption of the SDGs in September 2015, which replaced the Millennium Development Goals, the UIS will continue to be responsible for the development of measurement frameworks and indicators needed to monitor Goal 4 ("Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all").
